What is Arthrosamid®?

​

Arthrosamid® is a new type of injection treatment designed to help reduce knee pain caused by knee osteoarthritis. It’s a non-biodegradable hydrogel made up of 97.5% water and 2.5% polyacrylamide, which is injected directly into the knee joint.

Unlike some other knee injections that offer short-term relief, Arthrosamid® works differently and can offer longer-lasting pain relief often up to 12 months or more from a single injection. There is evidence of the injection providing long lasting pain relief for 4 years or more.

How Does It Work?

• Once injected into the knee, Arthrosamid® integrates with the soft tissue of the joint lining.

• It helps to cushion and lubricate the joint, which reduces friction and pain during movement.

• Over time, the hydrogel also helps improve the function of the knee by reducing inflammation and protecting the joint from further wear.
